I saw my mother at the weekend, so, I began once again to photograph just her.
I felt it was more succesful this time, she still seemed nervous around the camera. I captured a series of interesting images of her. I think they repersent her well, and her characteristics.
I decided to photograph just her instead both my parents because i felt it was more personal, also I could concentrate on bringing her character through to the photograph if she was alone.
I was much more pleased with the outcome of these photographs,  the photograph's seem deeper and more reflective of the model.

Artists Reasearch ~ Sally Mann and Annie Leibovitz
I went to see the Annie Leibovitz exhibition in London, it was a very moving and deep exhibiton.  Primarily i was moved by the photograph's of her fathers death and that of her long time  freind Susan Santrong.  There were photographs of Leibovitz family including parents and her children.
I wanted to create a series of portraits of my parents in this manner .

Sally Mann~ Sally Mann creates beautiful photographs using a large scale camera, Mann uses her family to show and portray her free living lifestyle. Mann's work relates to mine in the sense that she uses her family to portray her world and thats what I am trying to achieve.

FRIENDS

Another important part of my life are my freinds, they like my parents, help to shape me.

Within the set of pictures i created, are black and white photographs. That do little but show the character of the person, my personal favourite is the half picture of rachael.

The photograph of Jennifer laughing, is a shot that clearly shows her and how fun she is, the photograph of Jack is a serious picture which also reflects his personality, the close up portrait of Colette is a reflection of this girls great beauty.

I would like to carry on with this series of photographing my freinds.
      MY MOTHER

I have to wait another week to photograph my mum again, as we now live 3 hours apart.

However, i have been thinking about ways to photograph my mother and i have to decided to photograph her in Yorkshire where she grew up.

After being giving advice, i looked at the book Urban history of Photography Street and Studio, which looks at photography in the street and studio.

I want to try and create photographs of my mother without her getting upset, or flustered about the situation.
